I am a specialist senior registrar in orthopaedics in Nigeria. I am a very motivated medical doctor with a wide spectrum of knowledge, clinical and leadership skills acquired and polished within the over seven (7) years post qualification by training, work experience, and continuous professional development. I am a good team player and integrate well into teams caring for patients and colleagues. I am a strong builder of institutional framework. I am driven and can help motivate colleagues in the right direction. I am very dependable and resourceful with a good sense of responsibility. I am also passionate about a system that works. I am extremely proficient in English language and versatile in the use of computers and related gadgets. I am fully registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) and in good standing with the council with no criminal record.
As a senior cadre orthopaedic surgery trainee who is passionate about academic research and teaching due to qualify as a consultant in the next one year. I have great interest in gaining highly specialized skills in orthopaedics and trauma. My specific areas of interest are; arthroplasty, complex trauma and orthopaedic arthroscopic procedures. I am able to perform complex orthopaedics surgeries such as internal fixation of closed fractures with intramedullary nails as well as with plates and screws. I am very comfortable doing external fixations of open fractures with uniplanar and biplanar external fixator construct as well as with the linear rail systems.
I was the immediate past National Vice President of the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors and Chairman of the association's medical education committee.
I am a member of International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SICOT) and Nigerian Orthopeadic Association.
I passionate about advocacy for equitable orthopaedic health care especially in a resource poor environment like mine in northern Nigeria.
