I completed my Undergraduate degree from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) , Jodhpur. I have an interest in arthroplasty. Outside Orthopaedics, I love quizzing and playing lawn tennis, listening to music and watching movies.

I specialise in paediatrics and foot and ankle after completing fellowships (Vancouver and Auckland) and maintain a practice in hip and knee arthroplasty and trauma also. I am happy to be settled back in Christchurch, New Zealand, with my husband and three young sons after traveling for several years to complete training and fellowships.

I, Dr. Vijay Kumar Jain am a Professor, in the Department of Orthopaedics, at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences & Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in New Delhi. I have almost 18 years of experience in orthopaedics practice. My special area of interest is a joint replacement and musculoskeletal oncology. I have published over 135 publications in peer-reviewed national and international journals and a book chapter.

I have an H index of 17 on the Scopus website.


Currently, I am a Section Editor of the Journal of Clinical Orthopaedics and Trauma, associate editor of the journal of orthopaedics, and section editor of the Indian journal of orthopaedics. I am a reviewer of the Journal of Orthopaedic Translation, Journal of arthroplasty, and Journal of Clinical Orthopaedics and Trauma.

Hand and upper limb surgeon in public as Head of Department of Hand Surgery at Fremantle Hospital and in private at the Murdoch Orthopaedic Clinic.

I'm a Project Coordinator at the Australian Orthopaedic Association National Joint Replacement Registry. My team and I are working on a national rollout of Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) across all hospitals that perform joint replacements in Australia.
