Scholarships & bursaries for individuals who are under-represented in orthopaedics help break down barriers, increase access to education, and foster diversity. ​
These opportunities empower recipients to contribute to their communities, drive innovation, and promote social equity and inclusion within the field of orthopaedics.​

IODA Members who may apply:
US Female, Racial Minority or LGBTQI+ Residents

UK Female, Racial Minority or LGBTQI+ FRCS Trainees
Miller’s Orthopaedic Review Course, Oxford offers preparation for the FRCS Tr & Orth with 4 days of intensive in-person lectures and over 65 hours of pre-recorded video lectures for you to work through at your own pace, anywhere in the world.
All lecturers are experienced Consultants or Fellows with the FRCS (Tr & Orth) examination. Learn more...
AOA Annual Scientific Meeting Bursary 2026

Asia Pacific Fully Qualified Female Surgeons

The Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) Annual Scientific Meeting is the premier event for orthopaedic surgeons in Australia, held annually to facilitate education, networking, and professional development. The event will be held in Oct 2026.

AOA Emerging Leaders Forum (ELF) Bursary 2026
IODA Members applicants must fulfil the following criteria:

Fully Qualified Surgeon practising in an Asia Pacific nation

In first 10 years of practice at time of application

Female OR from a racial minority OR practicing in a low-resource nation
The ELF provides an opportunity to support the development of future leaders in the health sector and to nurture relationships with early-career members of our own (and other) invited surgical societies.
