Acerca de

I am a Trauma & Orthopaedic Registrar in the Northern Ireland Deanery, United Kingdom, with a professional journey spanning India, England, and Northern Ireland. Working across different healthcare systems and cultures has shaped both my clinical practice and my interest in diversity and inclusion within orthopaedic surgery.

My clinical interests include lower-limb arthroplasty and trauma, alongside a strong academic interest in research, surgical education, and the application of digital health and artificial intelligence in orthopaedics. I have authored more than 25 peer-reviewed publications and contributed to several book chapters. I am also actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and enjoy mentoring and supporting junior colleagues.

Outside my day-to-day clinical work, I enjoy collaborating with colleagues internationally and contributing to initiatives that promote education, research, mentorship, and professional development. Through IODA, I hope to connect with colleagues from diverse backgrounds, learn from their experiences, and contribute to greater representation, inclusion, and opportunities within orthopaedics.

¿Qué te hizo unirte a IODA?

I joined IODA because I strongly believe that diversity and inclusion make orthopaedics stronger. Having trained and worked across India, England, and Northern Ireland, I have experienced different healthcare systems, cultures, and training approaches. This has made me particularly interested in promoting equal opportunities, mentorship, and representation within orthopaedics. IODA provides a unique international platform to connect with colleagues from diverse backgrounds, learn from their experiences, and contribute to initiatives that can make our specialty more inclusive and supportive for the next generation of surgeons.

¿Cómo ha abordado la DEI en su lugar de trabajo?

Having worked across India, England, and Northern Ireland, I have learned to value different cultures, experiences, and perspectives. I try to create a supportive environment by treating colleagues fairly, involving junior doctors and students in teaching and research, and encouraging everyone to contribute and develop regardless of their background.

¿Cómo se define la inclusión?

For me, inclusion means creating an environment where everyone feels they belong and has the confidence to contribute. Having worked across India, England, and Northern Ireland, I have seen how different backgrounds and experiences bring valuable perspectives. I believe everyone should feel respected and supported, with equal opportunities to learn, contribute, and progress.

¿Cuál es su logro del que está más orgulloso?

One of my proudest achievements is being nominated for the ISAKOS Young Investigator Award, which was meaningful recognition of my research and encouraged me to continue developing academically. I am also proud to have developed and edited my own textbook, Essentials of Orthopaedic Clinical Examination, which has been accepted for publication by Springer. Taking the book from an initial idea to bringing together experts from different orthopaedic subspecialties has been particularly rewarding. These experiences reflect my passion for combining clinical orthopaedics with research, education, and international collaboration.
